Nesco Resource has partnered with a global company to fill a Cost Accountant at their Columbus Oh facility. The Cost Accountant will play a critical role in our global electronics manufacturing company, responsible for managing and analyzing product costs to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision-making. It involves working closely with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyze costs, and provide insights to optimize production processes and drive cost savings. The Cost Accountant will also assist in preparing financial reports, conducting variance analysis, and maintaining inventory valuation. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the financial success of a dynamic and fast-growing company. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to gather data on product costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead, and conduct thorough cost analysis. Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and waste reduction. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory valuation, including conducting periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and inventory reconciliations. Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for cost fluctuations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Support month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals related to cost accounting. Provide insights and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making related to product pricing, sourcing, and profitability. Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies. Proficient in using ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and data analysis tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
