The Senior Investment Professional role is responsible for supporting the management of Nationwide Investment's hedge fund, emerging market debt, public equity and other third-party managed portfolios in collaboration with the Liquid Alternatives team members. This includes supporting the development of an investment pipeline, fulfilling reporting needs, creating analytical models, and supporting/leading special projects. As part of the Nationwide Alternatives Platform this individual will also have exposure and opportunity to work with members of Nationwide's Private Equity team as well. Leads (directly or indirectly) building innovative solutions, projects, or initiatives using complex-problem solving techniques paired with domain expertise. Impacts department and sometimes functional management. As part of the Nationwide Alternatives Platform this individual will also have exposure and opportunity to work with members of Nationwide's Private Equity team as well. This role may include people leader responsibilities.

As a potential people leader, you will also be responsible for the overall performance of the team, as well as management of individual associates.   • Covers mid-large, moderately complex accounts using significant judgement on moderate to complex accounts. Accountable for multiple processes or programs and may have input on department budgets. Responsible for evaluation, assessing and management of multiple mid-large managers/funds
  • Evaluates and recommends investment opportunities.
  • Performs in-depth manager / fund reviews with base case and downside analysis.
  • Prepares materials and participates in the review legal documentation with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Performs the necessary research for early identification of emerging issues or risks with managers/funds within the portfolio.
  • Develops an investment pipeline handling incoming inquiries, and sourcing opportunities independently in the marketplace.
  • Manages relationships with current and prospective investment managers as well as with service providers.
  • Prepares materials for and participates in landscaping and pipeline meetings.
  • Utilizes financial and statistical models to drive underwriting, monitoring and portfolio management processes.
  • Suggests model enhancements and develops/supports the development of new models as necessary.
  • Performs as a senior individual contributor and may have managerial responsibilities.
  • May be a people leader within the Liquid Alternatives Deal Analyst function managing the Liquid Alternatives Deal Analyst team.May Perform other duties as assigned.Reporting Relationships: Reports to Appropriate Group Head in AlternativesTypical Skills and Experiences: -Education: Bachelor's Degree; MBA or CFA preferredExperience: Eight to twelve years of related investment experienceKnowledge, Abilities and Skills: -

    • Integrates quantitative and qualitative information to draw accurate conclusions.
    • Proficient in Excel; experience with Python, R, Tableau, or similar is a plus
    • Experience with Bloomberg, Private I, CEPRES, eVestment Alliance, or other similar tools
