Job Summary: The Cash Application Specialist is a vital member of our finance team responsible for accurately and efficiently processing incoming payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the timely and accurate application of cash to customer accounts. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.Responsibilities:

• Payment Processing: Receive, review, and process incoming payments from various sources, including checks, electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and credit card payments.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile daily and monthly financial statements to ensure accurate and up-to-date account balances.
• Cash Application: Apply payments to customer accounts accurately and promptly, ensuring that each transaction is properly recorded.
• Research and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to payments, working closely with the billing and collections teams.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and complete records of all payment transactions, making sure they align with accounting and auditing standards.
• Customer Communication: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and concerns related to payment application and account balances.
• Reporting: Generate and distribute regular reports on cash application activities and financial status to management.
• Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the cash application process.Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Cash Application Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
