Geotechnical Staff Engineer

Job Description and Job Duties

Assists in the completion of geotechnical
projects. Plans and manages projects. Performs field geotechnical explorations
and investigations. Little travel to various unanticipated locations throughout
the U.S. to collect samples, perform site inspection and locate borings. Reads
blueprints and maintains, monitors and enforces quality reviews and
certifications/specifications. Analyzes shallow and deep foundations. Analyzes
traffic loading, volume and load transformation to pavement subgrade. Maintains
equipment inventory and equipment calibration. Estimates cost and budgets,
prepares proposals and manages clients. Prepares geotechnical engineering
reports and interacts with clients on technical aspects of projects. Reviews
and administers soil tests; assigns necessary laboratory tests for soil
samples; instructs and guides laboratory technicians and reviews soil
laboratory test results. Performs soil properties analysis. Assists in planning
and execution of subsurface investigation programs, locating test boring
inspections in the field and utility coordination. Develops designs and
analyzes earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.
Analyzes and designs pavement. Performs non-destructive testing of pavement
using Falling Weight Deflectometer. Evaluates slope stability.

Special
Requirements

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical
or Civil Engineering. Must have three (3) months of
experience in the job offered or a Civil Engineer.

Three (3) months of aforementioned experience
must have included all of the following:

1) Analysis of traffic loading, volume and
load transformation to pavement subgrade;

2) Non-destructive testing of pavement
using Falling Weight Deflectometer; and

3) Soil testing.
