Where You'll Work & The Scope:VishayDale in Columbus, NEis currently seeking a full time Sr Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. As the Continuous Improvement Champion, this position is responsible for supporting the plant in developing and implementing effective LEAN and CI tactics including Continuous Improvement tools and 5S methods. Also has accountability for tracking progress, training, communicating and influencing a culture of safety, quality, efficiency, and output goals.
How You'll Help Us Build The DNA of Tech:

  • Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products
  • Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new/existing products.
  • Develops new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging and processes.
  • Participates in development and implementation of action plans relating to the Lean Program of process improvement, including kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, and Design for Lean Six Sigma projects.
  • Aligns with peers and managers to identify opportunities in any area of the facility for process improvement projects.
  • As assigned coordinates each project phase and ensure that participants and stakeholders have the tools and resources they need, necessary information, and guidance to enable them to fully engage in the CI process and maximize the potential outcome of each project.
  • Continuous improvement champion by promoting an environment supportive of continuous learning, individual accountability, and access of proper tools benefiting Lean tactics.
  • Coordinates the training of staff on Lean process improvement techniques, including a plan for deployment of training to all staff.
  • Conducts formal reviews with the management team on a quarterly basis to review accomplishments, identify areas for improvement, and respond to questions. Experience You'll Need:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology expected, or a directly relatable topic, or accomplished relatable work experience equivalency is required.
    • Certifications in LEAN or Six Sigma highly preferred
      • Proficiency w/ AutoCAD or Solid works recommended
      • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing workplace, with direct topic experience required.
      • Use of Lean methodologies, process control, and constraint theory desired.
      • Lead others to adopt and adapt to Continuous Improvement as a result of Lean application.
      • Analyzes and resolves problems relating to topic, individual and in team collaboration.
      • Capable to design learning aids and topic material for training application. Benefits:
