The Outsourcing Robotics Technical Expert (CL5-EX4) position for
the Equipment Production department contributes to the overall
mission of HDMA by providing critical Robotics technical leadership
through strategic planning, development of standardized processes
and procedures, and training/mentoring of both internal and
external associates as it relates to Honda specific knowledge
focusing on Robotic programming verification, installation, and
maturation. This position requires an understanding of both
off-line programming and on-site robot installation, programming,
and maturation required to achieve desired safety, quality, and
cost targets of project.Responsibilities include:
--- Maintain connectivity to other components of HR to ensure
collective HR system approach
--- Identify short and long-term Outsourcing Robotics function
needs, develop plans/proposals, and collaborate with Manager to
implement strategic direction to achieve the Business Unit
Outsourcing goals, including vendor management, budget/staffing
needs, selection/assessment criteria, and creating/maintaining
operational policies/procedures in coordination with GO.
--- Function as overall Outsourcing Unit robotics technical leader
that is capable of training/mentoring both internal and external
associates. Work with internal robotics groups to understand and
coordinate offline and online activity with vendor robot related
activities. Act as main vendor evaluator to assess if development
is advancing as planned to assure vendor can be successful on
future projects with minimal support from PEBU.
--- Verification of both PEBU input and vendor output (PSR) Process
Simulation Robotics data (virtual robotics cells). This data serves
as a starting point for Offline Teaching (OLT) activities.
Essentially, it provides the necessary information for teaching
robots how to perform specific tasks without being connected to the
production line.
--- Confirmation of final deliverables being sent to PEBU from
vendors. Verification of on-line process cycle times and assure
that weld parameters and sequence meet specifications. This
involves optimizing the time it takes for robotic processes to
complete, improving efficiency, and minimizing delays.
--- Directs the overall project/work schedules for all assigned
functional deliverables, including project specification review,
scope of work verification, base schedule, and quotation creation.
Monitor progress of vendor offline and online robotic milestones
related to project schedules and work with them on recovery plans
as needed.
--- Assist in setting direction and acquire software/macro creation
related to optimization of Off-Line Robotic programming Who we are
seeking:
Required Work Experience:
--- 8 + years' relevant experience integrating industrial
automation systems and roboticsRequired Education:
--- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls,
Mechanical, or Automation Technology) or equivalent experience
Desired Skills:
--- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability
to multitask and set short-, medium-, and long-term priorities.
--- Experience with New Model project install.
--- MS Office, Communication - Public Speaking/Presentation skills,
Problem solving and decision making, & Interaction with executive
level management. TQM style analysis and problem-solving
skills.Additional Position Factors:
--- Combination office and plant floor.
--- Willingness to work shifted work weeks, weekends, and overtime
when necessary.
--- 15 to 20% travel both domestic and international.Honda is an

Pay Details: $97,600.00 - $146,400.00
