Job Description:
Ryder, a leader in logistics and transportation, seeks a
dedicated Diesel Mechanic Maintenance Technician to join our
technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for
maintaining and repairing diesel engines that power our fleet of
trucks, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. This role
is crucial in minimizing downtime and supporting the smooth
operation of our logistics solutions. By joining Ryder, you will be

supporting industries nationwide. Perform routine vehicle
maintenance and repair faulty assemblies on diesel engines,
including engines, transmissions, and clutches. Diagnose and repair
electrical systems and electronic components of vehicles. Inspect
brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other
important parts to ensure that they are in the proper operating
condition. Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are
examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs,
brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially
troublesome areas. Conform to all safety rules and regulations in
the workplace, and use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components
and ensure proper use and management of all Ryder repair and
maintenance resources. Maintain cleanliness of work area.
Communicate effectively with logistics managers on any issues
regarding maintenance that might affect scheduled deliveries.
In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and systems. Ability
to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems. Proficient in the
use of all tools of the trade (e.g., welding equipment, diagnostic
equipment). Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow established procedures and practices. Maintain a
strong focus on detail, efficiency, and safety. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certification from the
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in
Diesel Mechanics is highly desirable. Valid CDL (Commercial
Driver's License) is a plus.
