Descriptions: C Shift: 6pm - 6am Essential Function: Works in a
safe manner, adhering to all applicable company and OSHA safety
guidelines. Maintains equipment such as cutting saws, CZ growers,
DSS furnaces and support equipment to specifications as part of a
maintenance group so as to verify that equipment meet requirements
to produce quality material for Silfex and customers. The person in
this position is expected to use effective technical mathematics
and measurement tools in the performance of tasks. This person will
monitor and service all mechanical and electrical systems in the
Crystal Growth area. Provides various support functions such as
maintaining spares inventories, modifying equipment, improving
equipment performance and reliability. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Conduct periodic safety audits to proactively
identify and resolve potential safety issues. Ensure follow-up and
closure of action items generated. Develop and maintain a working
knowledge of the SILFEX Quality Management System, SILFEX
Manufacturing System (SMS) and all relevant Quality and Operating
Procedures and apply properly as appropriate. Read and understand
detailed procedures and work instructions. Develop job proficiency.
Manage time effectively. Perform tasks in both group and individual
environments. Contribute to a Team Effort by accomplishing related
results as needed. Ensure production operations by determining work
priorities and coordinating repair, maintenance, and installation
of machines, tools, and equipment with Operations and Engineering.
Know and understand safety and specification criteria prior to
performing maintenance functions. Perform all work related tasks in
a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to Silfex
Management. Properly handle materials. Protect employees and
visitors by maintaining a safe and clean building. Recognize and
rectify potential unsafe conditions. Determines root cause of
failures by observing electrical, mechanical and controls devices
in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and
testing instruments. Maintain coolant systems and machine
filtration systems. Provide improvement ideas and detailed
description of equipment issues to Operations, Supervisor,
Engineering, acting as a liaison. Provide detail and describe
process improvement ideas to fellow team members, Supervisor,
Engineering, and Operations, acting as a liaison. Execute and
assist development of preventive maintenance tasks per procedures.
Utilize ERP system to track downtime, spare parts, projects, PM and
other tasks. Keep technical skills and knowledge up-to-date. Carry
out and lead special projects and other appropriate and reasonable
duties that may be assigned from time to time. Subject to call-in
during off-shift and weekends as needed. Lead the Team Effort by
accomplishing related results as needed. Provide utilities by
directing installation of, modifications to, and maintenance
activities on equipment. Maintain and develop job proficiency.
Manage time effectively. Proficient knowledge and understanding of
safety and specification criteria prior to performing maintenance
functions. Follow all company safety policies, performs all work
related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to
SILFEX management. Attend specialized training and cross train on
the job for all maintenance activities plant wide. Culture: Display

vertically and horizontally within Silfex. Assist in applying lean
manufacturing concepts and 5S. Demonstrate ownership of continuous
improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and
cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these
areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating
any maintenance issues. Qualifications: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have High school diploma or general education degree (GED). An
Associate College degree in engineering is preferred. Must have 2 -
4 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with any of the following is preferred: crystal growing
equipment, cooling water systems, electrical systems, PLC control
systems. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees or other
departments of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and
amounts using basic math. Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,
or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several
concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to work
effectively individually and in a team environment. Must be able to
pay close attention to details. Must be able to assess drawings and
specifications for machines and control systems. Must be able to
perform successfully under minimum supervision. Must be able to
attain sufficient task success to establish credibility with
management, staff and employees. Knowledgeable at troubleshooting
of CNC Equipment is desired but not required Some experience in
troubleshooting, repair, fabricate multiple pieces of manufacturing
equipment desired Have or obtain certification for lift truck,
scissors lift and other service and maintenance equipment C Shift:

particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid
conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate. Must be
