It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doingJob SummaryThe Director, Digital Capabilities, Strategy, and Delivery is accountable for leading Digital capabilities through all phases of the products and capabilities management life cycle from strategic definition to in market. The Director leads a team of Product Managers responsible for defining and managing capabilities roadmaps that are aligned with high level business and IT objectives as well as the team of Product Owners aligned with the IT Agile practice to drive delivery of approved roadmap items and influence the short and mid-term roadmap objectives. Product Managers on this team are responsible for defining the now, new and next for their set(s) of features and capabilities and working to define high level business and UX requirements that serve as inputs into the planning and IT development and delivery processes. The Director also leads resources in cross functional environment to deliver high quality and robust capabilities and features to market. The Director presents a strong product development aptitude, digital expertise, an agile mindset, business growth orientation business acumen, and analytical thinking as well as the ability to influence at all levels to drive prioritization and appropriate velocity of projects. This leader works in close coordination with other Marketing teams, IT, Client Partnerships, Legal, Compliance, Customer Care, Credit Risk and Enterprise Risk and partners with brands to co-develop, collaborate on roadmaps and drive appropriate innovation.Job DescriptionEssential Job Functions Capability Strategy & Go To Market Approach--- Assesses market, brand, consumer and organization needs to define a thoughtful, pragmatic capability roadmap for the business. Proactively stays abreast of the emerging technologies and appropriately leverages new paradigms to advance digital roadmaps, create competitive and market leading experiences and capabilities. Leads with an enterprise focus to ensure digital capabilities create material value for the enterprise. Defines the critical business initiatives for inclusion in multi-year roadmaps, success metrics, and go-to-market for Digital Capabilities. Socializes and gains alignment for a cohesive capability strategy for Digital Capabilities. Prioritizes needs and intake from business partners to advance key objectives, best leverage digital assets and support a comprehensive digital capability Suite. Drives the commercialization strategy for digital capabilities in partnership with marketing, client partnerships and enterprise services. Lead a proactive management of go to market plans that drive scale for the capabilities. Communicates and evangelizes the capabilities roadmap and strategy to internal and external teams, as necessary, setting and continuously managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders, while building understanding and advocacy within the associate base. Serve as the approval gate into the PCML/Read approval and technology review committees for Digital Capabilities. Capability Management and Delivery- Drives adoption of PCML/Read and identifies areas of refinement to increase the effectiveness of products and capability roadmap lifecycles. Optimizes capabilities across the maturity cycle and sunsets capabilities as required. Partner with internal partners including but not limited to IT, Enterprise Service, EPMO to drive the delivery of key initiatives. Serves as the escalation point for Digital Capabilities to provide support in solving business problems and/or escalated production support issues. Establishes key performance metrics to ensure delivery of tangible results aligned to overarching business priorities. Partners across the organization to prioritize Digital Capabilities backlog against broader business initiatives. Leadership & Team Management--- Leads and mentors a high performing team of 3 - 5 or more direct reporting individuals, focused on specific digital capability solutions. Develops talent and bench strength through succession planning and individual development planning, while also assessing career expansion and stretch opportunities. Provides direct reports with timely and constructive feedback in the form of 2020's, SOAR discussions, and performance reviews. Documents all conversations in the performance management tools provided by HR. Regularly assesses organizational performance and structure needs, to include resource / staffing plans and process improvements, if appropriate org redesigns. Management and ownership of the budget for the department and the capabilities Capability Innovation--- Leverages industry and internal partners to develop and iterate on strategies that anticipate, lead and align with evolving trends in: customer experience, loyalty, payments mobile and digital. Fosters an environment of innovation and develops tools, processes and structures to facilitate strategic innovation Partner Management and Oversight--- Serves as relationship owner and point of contact with external vendors and partners in the context of ongoing support for capabilities management and delivery. Identifies partners and business opportunities that will enhance the capabilities offerings or create net-new capabilities. Accountable for partner performance and management. Scope includes contracts, KPI---s, prioritization, and escalation path for internal resources Client & Prospect Facing Responsibilities--- Plans and develops client facing content specific to a capability strategy or roadmap, or client / prospect need. Acts as thought leader on broad topics encompassing Digital Capabilities, where appropriate, to define and communicate broad statements of strategy or direction for the business. Ability to represent Digital Capabilities in client / prospect conversations that require balancing multiple opposing interests to drive mutually beneficial solutions and timelines while still achieving desired capability roadmap and business goals. Reports to: Sr Director, Acquisition & Digital Capabilities Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Normal office environment, some travel may be required Direct Reports: Yes Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor---s Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Product Development, or related area of study Eight or more years with product/capabilities management or relevant experience. Preferred Experience: Master Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Product Development, or related area of study Marketing, Product Development, or related area of study Ten or more years in product/capabilities management or relevant experience. Demonstrable experience working in retail, financial services, payments, e/m-commerce, online and mobile platforms. Demonstrable experience working with 3rd party vendors and oversight of 3rd party vendor integration products. Experience with agile development techniques and continuous integration philosophies and practices. Familiarity with the business services and offerings associated with ADS is a plus. Five or more years of Supervisory experience.
