Job Description:
The Project Manager, Electrical partners with long-standing
clients on mid-scale commercial and industrial construction
projects in the greater Columbus area.
Responsibilities
Deliver projects to ensure long-standing business relationships
with clients, architects, general contractors, and other project
partners are protected and strengthen.
Review drawings, plans and related documents to develop and
communicate project schedules-labor and material. Meet with project
supervisor to convey project parameters and schedules.
Meet with general contractors and other project partners to review
project performance and update schedules as necessary. Review
operational and financial results with project supervisors weekly.
Report on progress of projects at weekly Sales and Production
meeting.
Ensure project partners--contractors, architects, engineers,
suppliers, owners/representatives--have updated project
documentation to ensure clear and consistent communication.
Identify opportunities to improve the planning, organizing, time
management and communication skills of Project Supervisors and
electrical skills of Apprentices and Journeyman.
Conduct project closing meetings as needed.
Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities and Attributes
High School or post-secondary degree, 5-10 years of commercial
journeyman experience and preferably 2-5 years of Project
Supervision/Management experience with another electrical
contractor or industry participant.
Construction and Management knowledge and skills necessary to plan
and organize multiple projects concurrently and resolve significant
installation challenges. Communication skills necessary to
correspond with other project partners, internal and external,
clearly and timely.
Interpersonal and human relation skills necessary to nurture
long-standing business relationships.
Trade-specific skills necessary to train and develop Apprentices
and Journeyman electricians
Administrative skills necessary to ensure the timely and accurate
flow of information between clients and other project partners as
well as internally among field and office staffs.
Ability to use MS Office proficiently.
Working Environment
Incumbent usually works in a normal office environment. While
working in the field, incumbent is subject to hazards common to
construction-noise, dust, changing weather conditions etcetera.
