This growing organization is looking for an HR Manager

Summary/Objective

The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the site HR function.

Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Develop and administer various Human Resources plans and procedures for all site personnel.

Plan, organize and control all activities of the department.

Participate in developing department goals,objectives and systems.

Implement and annually updates the benefits and compensation program; rewrite job descriptions as
necessary; conduct annual salary surveys and develop merit pool (salary budget); analyze compensation;
monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.

Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.

Oversee all union activities: managing grievances, contract interpretation, and coach and train leaders to ensure proper labor relations.

Participate in union negotiations, attends union delegate meetings.

Ensure maintenance of records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions, such as
hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.

File EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Conduct recruitment effort for all site specific, exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; write and places advertisements; work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conduct reference checking; extend job offers; conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-path program and employee relations counseling; conduct exit interviews.

Establish and maintain department records and reports, including headcount, turnover, job bids, absenteeism, worker's compensation, etc.

Participate in HR and Operation staff meetings and attend
other meetings, as necessary.

Maintain employee HRIS data, including corresponding reporting.

Evaluate reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals.

Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Participate in HR company-wide project teams.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

A bachelor degree in human resources or related field
Minimum of five years; experience in human resources
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
HR Generalist background
Union experience
Ability to work well with all cultures
Team and leadership skills

Preferred Education, Qualifications and Experience

A masters degree in human resource management or business. Experience leading HR in union
environment.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
HRCI Certified Professional PHR or SPHR
