Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Columbus has an opening for Sales
positions within the organization. Any experience level open to
apply (Director to entry level)-all will be considered. The
successful candidate must be punctual, responsible; customer
service oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills with at
least 2 years of hotel experience.Solicit group business that
enables the hotel to meet and or exceed revenue goals in rooms and
food and beverage. This position is designated for a sales
professional who desires to be the best in their field. This
position is also designated for seasoned sales professionals who
have demonstrated consistently strong revenue production.The
starting pay will be based on experience. We require you to pass a
national background check before you start the job.Key Areas of
Responsibility: Sales, Catering, Conference Services, Reservations,
Revenue ManagementSpecific Duties:
- Responsible for achieving sales goals as directed by Indus
Hotels standards, budgets and as directed by DOS / VP Sales.
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet / exceed revenue
goals (budget) through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls,
site inspections and written communication.
- Ability to negotiate and close the sale effectively for hotel
room sales, catering sales with ability to proactively up sell the
hotel and facilities to achieve the ADR and RevPar goals.
- Participates in and follows the Marketing plan, monitor market
trends and related information to develop marketing and sales
strategies, noting changes in the economic, business climate and
events in the area
- Request approval for concessions, contract language, utilizing
the basic Indus Hotels approved contract(s), terminology. Insure
any accounts requiring direct bill are utilizing the Indus Hotels
direct bill application and approval process. Changes to contract
templates, outside or third-party contracts must be approved by the
Indus Hotels corporate VP Sales and Marketing.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required by
Indus VP Sales and Marketing and VP Operations. May be required on
an as needed basis based on communication from Indus Hotels
Corporate staff.
- Conducts effective presentations during site inspections,
outside sales calls and client entertainment opportunities.
- Maintains effective response time to all lead inquiries from
Brand, CVB, and all other lead sources based on Indus Hotels
required response time of 4 (four) hours. Brand standard response
time of 4 hours.
- Insures proper use and input of all information in Delphi sales
system for timely responses, rate and contract loading, sales pace,
lead responses, reporting and activities of all sales personnel.
- All traces are maintained up to date with updates or re-trace
based on client response
- Accurately documented conversations, agreements, questions, and
negotiations
- All groups are input into the appropriate PMS system in a
timely manner as per Indus Hotels standards. Rate and Group Loading
Recap should be in group file. In hotels with Revenue Manager, RM
will load group in hotels with no RM the sales administrator and
the sales manager are responsible for loading the group. In
properties with a RM if the RM is not on property the sales
administrator or sales manager is responsible for loading the
group
- Prepare and review all BEO items and pricing ensuring that
information is accurate in Delphi and communicated to the proper
departments. All groups will have an estimated food and beverage,
room rental attached to the group at the time of booking.
- Sales Managers are required to be trained and certified in all
aspects of Delphi and Hilton or Marriott required training.
