Overview









Allied Reliability is looking for a Rotating Equipment Manager to work with one of our top clients in the chemical industry. -The Rotating Equipment Engineer Discipline Focal Point will serve as the primary technical contact for all rotating equipment for the location. This engineer will own all applicable Technical Practice documents, develop operating and maintenance strategies for the equipment, mentor/teach engineers and technicians regarding rotating equipment, support Operations with troubleshooting and safe operations, and work to eliminate downtime through reliability efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to Rotating Equipment Team (multiple engineers, discipline inspectors, and reliability technicians).
  • Develops short and long-term reliability plans for rotating equipment to increase MTBR, working closely with Operations, Projects, and Maintenance teams to achieve business goals
  • Monitors rotating equipment performance and operation; oversees the predictive and preventive maintenance programs, equipment upgrades, and the maintenance strategy effectiveness of rotating assets
  • Maintains SAP PM module for management of rotating equipment inventory, condition, repair history, and spare parts
  • Support on-site learning and development of engineers, operations personnel, maintenance, and mechanical inspection team
  • Provide emergency/after-hours advanced troubleshooting and investigation to return facility to safe operation
  • Provide technical support and investigation leadership for unplanned failure investigations
  • Support Capital projects with specification and design reviews. Assist in the development of scope for equipment overhauls as required













    Qualifications









    Required Skills
    • Specific knowledge of rotating and reciprocating machinery, best practices, failure analysis and troubleshooting, vibration analyses, oil sampling, lubrication analysis, ultrasonic examination techniques, precision alignment, dynamic balancing, baseplate grouting procedures.
    • Strong knowledge of supporting assets including motors and instrumentation pertaining to rotating equipment operation
    • A thorough knowledge of petrochemical plant operating processes, equipment, and materials, as well as critical analytical skills are needed to effectively evaluate equipment performance and problems.
    • Competence in application of industry standards and practices to all aspects of rotating equipment, hydraulic systems analysis and machinery installations with a working knowledge of all applicable engineering and inspection codes/standards and their application. API, PIP, ASME, ANSI, OSHA
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred with strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to develop others
    • Proficiency in SAP or other CMMS.
    • Practical experience with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs along with development and implementation of asset strategies
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to formulate and communicate sound recommendations based on risk assessment processes and the ability to identify threats, communicate potential impact, and build a strong case for action to mitigate the threat cost effectively
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
    • Ability to work effectively within a multi-discipline team environment consisting of Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, and Operations
    • Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy while meeting deadlines.
    • General knowledge of project management, reliability engineering and root cause analysisEducation & Experience
      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
      • Preferred 5-10 years' experience in the Petrochemical or related industry
      • Preferred 5-10 years' experience with rotating equipment -
