Our location in Columbus, OH, currently has an opportunity for a
Manager, Market Insights. This role focuses on leading and managing
Data and Analytics for our Pediatric Brands: Similac, Pedialyte and
PediaSure.
**CORE CONTRIBUTION:**
Be the key data and analytics partner for Abbotts Pediatric
Nutrition business. Lead data and analytics initiatives and
collaborate with cross-functional insight/analytics and business
teams. Use syndicated, panel, point-of-sale and other databases,
models and tools, to solve business challenges. This includes the
building and execution of reporting and analytics that summarize
sales performance, marketing drivers, and consumer behavior
metrics.
**WHAT YOULL DO:**
**STEWARDSHIP OF SECONDARY RESEARCH DATA SOURCES**
+ Provide expertise and utilize all available data sources,
including but not limited to POS consumption data (Nielsen),
shipments, Panel (Nielsen/Stratum/Numerator), primary research data
sets, etc.
+ Maintain the accuracy and integrity of consumption data sources
(POS data and Panel data - e.g. Nielsen).
+ Manage weekly and monthly Pediatric database new items placement
with support from Nielsen.
+ Proactively communicate any POS (Nielsen) data issues with
business partners and identify short-term and long-term resolution
plans to minimize impact on weekly/monthly business reporting.
**PROVIDE ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS**
+ Enable Marketing to move from data to decisions.
+ Provide impactful insights that shape brand and business strategy
through an intimate understanding of the context, including
financials, marketing and sales programs, distribution, and
customers.
+ Provide feedback on strategies and tactics by recommending
appropriate data sources and analytics to assess the effectiveness
of marketing and sales strategies and tactics.
**DEVELOP HIGH IMPACT BUSINESS REPORTS**
+ Develop monthly business performance reports, and as needed,
present to Senior Management.
+ Ensure that results are translated into real world
recommendations and implications for all stakeholders throughout
the organization.
+ Develop report frameworks that meet critical business needs and
work with marketing to ensure their ability to replicate and
explain. Automate report generation as much as possible.
**ADVANCED ANALYTICS**
+ Manage Advanced Analytics projects (e.g. Marketing Mix, Pricing,
Assortment, Market Structure), by working with data and analytics
vendors, as appropriate.
+ Manage vendors for projects, evaluate their performance, and
identify new vendors as needed.
+ Demonstrate thorough understanding of the relationship between
Marketing tactics and Sales results, and develop analyses that
include an integration of these data sets for comprehensive
insight.
**ENGAGE WITH INTERNAL PARTNERS**
+ Coordinate Data and Analytics needs among cross-functional
teams.
+ Develop a strong team-based relationship with internal partners
to develop further insights, additional questions, and a deeper
understanding of the business to form and track brand strategies
and tactics.
+ Maintain high level of engagement with internal partners and to
support business decisions.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING:**
+ Bachelors degree in fields related to Data and Analytics or
Marketing required. Masters preferred.
+ 5+ years of consumer performance analytics and insights
experience required, preferably in a CPG or retail environment.
+ 3+ years of experience in retail sales / consumption analytics
and/or consumer panel behavior data. Other technical skills and
market research experience (e.g. primary research) is a plus.
+ Experience in developing/managing Marketing Mix Models
preferred.
+ Excellent analytical skills, and mastery of Excel and PowerPoint.
SPSS/other statistical software is a plus.
+ Demonstrated examples of leadership leveraging
data-analytics/consumer research to address business issues and
develop actionable recommendations.
+ Proven ability to integrate data from various sources to provide
synthesized insights.
+ Excellent written and communication skills.
+ Strong influencing skills, and ability to work effectively with
all levels of business team management.
+ Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to coach others and build organizational talent for data
and analytics, market research and strategic thought.
Estimated 10% travel.

The base pay for this position is $90,700.00 $181,300.00. In
specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range
posted.
