Leadership role responsible for providing direction and oversight of a centralized Procurement Shared Service group consisting of Data & Analytics, Operations, and Category Optimization. Provide strategic direction for efforts within these areas, e.g., Business Application Management, Reporting, External Workforce Management, Continuous Improvement, Training & Communication, Travel Management, and Bid Coordination. Oversee contracting tools, approval workflow management, Procurement information systems, scorecarding, market/industry/supplier intelligence gathering, and internal and external reporting analytics. Partner with Procurement Contract Services and the Account Managers to enable competitive supplier landscapes, develop innovative negotiation strategies, mitigate business and contract risk, and deliver economic, business and social value. Job Description Reports to: VP, Procurement Key Responsibilities Direct program to ensure timely and accurate data management to support spend analytics to be integrated into planning and reporting cycles with BU CFOs. Lead Value Realization to deliver impactful Economic, Business and Social returns to the enterprise. Establish strategic direction and provide leadership to data & analytics, including internal and external reporting for key stakeholders. Provide oversight for the external workforce fulfillment effort managed by Procurement for the enterprise, both IT and non-IT contract labor. Lead the continuous improvement cycle within cross-departmental capabilities and staff to ensure all sourcing capabilities are optimized. Lead in formulating entire departmental goals and objectives and tracking progress to ensure desired results are achieved. Oversee all departmental technology solutions strategy and collaborates with IT to ensure optimal results are delivered. Develop and implement multi-year technology strategy to ensure technology capabilities are continually improved upon and aligned with departmental strategy. Provide oversight and direction to operational activities including continuous improvement initiatives and analysis, travel management, bid coordination, communications, and training. Provide leadership to the Category Optimization effort, consisting of strategic initiatives designed to rationalize the supplier base and optimize spend across categories, agnostic of business unit. Oversee associate management including, but not limited to, performance management, development planning, associate engagement, salary planning and administration, succession planning, staffing/recruitment, and workflow planning. Breadth Across Enterprise The responsibility for this position is Enterprise-wide, providing the foundation for internal efforts which support every major business area and spend category. Financial Responsibility & Scope Indirect Category Domains represent $2.5 billion in spend – Direct domain (Insurance services) represent $7.5 billion in spend. Leadership Accountability Developing Strategy – 35% Providing Input on Strategic Direction – 40% Executing Strategy – 25% Team Composition Two (2) Director level direct reports leading Data & Analytics and Operations, one (1) Sr. Consultant and one (1) Consultant leading Category Optimization projects. Organization of 26-31 Senior Consultant, Manager, Consultant, Specialist, and Analyst indirect reports. Typical Skills and Experiences Education: Undergraduate studies finance, accounting, economics, procurement, supply chain management or related field. An advanced degree in business administration is desired. Experience: 15+ years related experience in supply management, purchasing, operations management, accounting operations, or related disciplines. 10+ years of managerial experience is preferred. Skills: Proven knowledge in procurement policies, programs, practices and procedures. Proven knowledge in project management concepts and techniques. Thorough understanding of technology systems, data, and analytics. Strong leadership and oral and written communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
