Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN
General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Specialty: Staff Augmentation
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 10 Experience:
Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure as
a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio
Certifications: N/A Must-Have: Knowledge of professional registered
nursing procedures and state and federal regulations related to
nursing Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients
in health services units or state-operated facilities. Observes,
assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of
patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs.
Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatment
plans. Monitors patients who are restrained on a timely basis and
provides immediate medical attention to emergencies. Acts as a
liaison to physicians for medical referrals as needed. Participates
in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by
staff and trains or orients new employees. Responsible for all
health care of patients in specific units including making rounds
and evaluating care needed. Administers medication and renders
direct nursing care as needed. Performs specialized procedures such
as IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, and CPR. Organizes and
oversees emergency response teams. Directs healthcare staff
assigned to the area and assumes charge responsibility in the
absence of senior staff. Performs clerical tasks including charting
and maintaining inventory of medications. Completes required
reports and documents relevant medical information. Arranges
outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations. Serves
occasionally as an instructor or as a member of problem-solving
teams or groups. Exposed to communicable diseases while working
shifts, weekends, and holidays.
