PCU Travel Nurse Job Details - Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs) - Unit: 18 East and West – Oncology, Orthopedic, and Sarcoma Transfusion Services (36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit, 24 PCU beds) - Assignment Length: 13-16 weeks (travel nurse contract) - Start Date: December 1, 2025 - End Date: March 23, 2026 - Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30) - Hours per Week: 36 - Employment Type: Travel nursing - Orientation: First week: Mon-Fri dayshift; Second week: 36 hours on-unit with preceptor - Patient Ratios: 1:3 PCU, 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,940 - $1,990 per week PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission - Minimum 1 year of recent high-acuity PCU nursing experience - 2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required for PCU travel nurse jobs) - Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system - Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program - Ability to float to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units as needed - Two professional references required (at least one from a supervisor or nurse manager) - Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) - COVID-19 vaccine not required PCU Nurse Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology, orthopedic, and thoracic oncology patients in a progressive care/telemetry setting - Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs) - Administer blood products and manage central, peripheral, and PICC lines - Perform feeding tube care, tracheostomy management, and wound care - Operate specialized medical equipment: GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanners, PCA pumps, and more - Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols - Participate in rapid response/code teams and manage cardiac drips (including titration) - Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services - Document patient care accurately using Epic EHR Enjoy flexible self-scheduling, a comprehensive orientation process, and the opportunity to grow your clinical skills in one of Ohio's top healthcare environments.
