Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 16 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with oncology patients and night shifts, requiring an OH or compact RN license and EPIC experience. Responsibilities - Hospital setting on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit specializing in oncology cases - Patient population includes oncology patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and symptom management - Nights: 12-hour shifts (3x12), with D/N shift options available - Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 - Specialized equipment includes B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds - Use of EPIC EMR is required - Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity - Primary responsibilities include monitoring oncology patients, managing symptoms, administering chemotherapy, and supporting infection prevention and fall protocols - Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention measures - Local candidates are accepted at the same rate - Candidates must promptly complete Ohio fingerprinting as part of onboarding - Requested time off must be submitted with application and included in the contract - First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements - Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Current BCLS certification required - EPIC EMR experience required - Oncology experience preferred but not required - Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias, access ports, manage arterial lines, administer blood products, manage central and PICC lines, perform IV starts, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, use high flow nasal cannula, and interpret ABGs - Two professional references required, with at least one from a leader (manager, director, or charge nurse) - Former employees eligible if away from the facility for 6 months or more - Current employees at any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel roles Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629206.
