Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 16 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position caring for mixed acuity patients, with Epic experience and night shifts required. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a mixed acuity of PCU and med/surg patients - Night shift is required, working 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with D/N rotating shift option available - Patient ratio is 1:5 - Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity - Care includes telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy management, and IV starts - Epic is the EMR used and experience is required - First week orientation is Monday through Friday on dayshift, followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor - Responsibilities include providing nursing care for patients with varying acuity, including PCU-level and med/surg-level care - Self-scheduling is available, with schedule requests submitted before finalization - Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers - Former employees eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees of the hospital system are ineligible - First-time travelers will be considered - Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting as soon as possible after contract signing - RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted and built into the contract - Dress code and scrub colors are not specified Requirements - Active OH or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration - Minimum 2 years RN experience required - BCLS certification required - Experience with telemetry and IV starts required - Epic EMR experience required - Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program - Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity - Oncology experience preferred but not required - Previous travel experience preferred but not required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621884.
