TravelNurseSource is working with Accede Solutions Inc to find a qualified PCU RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43085! About The Position Registered Nurse/PCU: Duration:13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Day 3x12-Hour (07:30 - 19:30) Description: Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) cares for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions, often with cardiac or post-surgical needs. They assess and monitor vital signs, interpret cardiac rhythms, and administer prescribed medications and treatments. The RN develops and updates care plans, educates patients and families, and promptly responds to changes in condition. They work closely with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care. If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED! Unit Information: • Medical Oncology with progressive care beds/pediatric patients. • High acuity of PCU and small amount of med surg Schedule: • No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule. • Facility determines the complete schedule, with the possibility of working every weekend. Must be flexible. • Maximum 7 straight days off. • 14-week contract required if taking 7 days off. Patient Diagnoses: • Solid Tumor • Orthopedic Oncology • Thoracic Oncology Special Procedures/Unit Details: •18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care. -Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by perm staff. Pediatric experience is NOT required to be agency RN here. Required: High acuity PCU patient experience -Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Special Equipment: • B450 monitors Client telemetry system. • Bladder Scanner. • Alaris pumps. • Stryker beds. • Continuous Bladder Irrigation • PCA Pumps Requirements: • 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but NOT REQUIRED • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS & NIH • Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry • Ratio: 1:3 PCU • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. • Previous travel experience preferred.
