Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Licensed
Registered Nurse by the Board of Nursing Certifications: Completion
of a master's degree in psychology or other mental health-related
field, or completion of a master's degree in nursing with a Mental
Health or Psychiatric Nursing concentration Must-Have: Completion
of continuing professional education for license renewal pursuant
to relevant sections of the Ohio Revised Code Description: The
Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements,
and provides interdisciplinary services concerned with the
development and integration of behavioral and biomedical science.
Knowledge and techniques are relevant to health and illness and the
application of this knowledge and techniques to prevention,
diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Within the scope of
practice, performs psychosocial interventions with clients. Carries
out individual, family, or group interventions, including
counseling, testing, and educating clients. Develops intervention
goals and objectives designed to provide education and resolve
clients' functional problems. Participates in establishing,
implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives.
Interviews clients and their families to establish case goals and
objectives. Assesses clients and determines specific intervention
techniques while monitoring clients' responses to treatment
systems. Provides feedback on the effectiveness of the prescribed
treatment. Evaluates cases and clients' progress resulting from
prescribed treatment plans. Maintains necessary documentation to
satisfy the requirements of governing agencies. Prepares data
requiring social histories, admission summaries, court documents,
and necessary forms. Serves on treatment teams and program
development teams. Attends training meetings and other relevant
meetings. Establishes and maintains working relationships with
other facilities and support services to coordinate referrals and
conduct follow-up services. Knowledge of departmental regulations,
policies, procedures, and rules related to counseling and client
care. Ability to counsel on sensitive matters and recognize unusual
or threatening conditions and take appropriate action. Understands
abstract fields of study and applies social work theories,
principles and techniques. May require unusual work schedules or
arrangements and exposure to clients who may be potentially
violent. May also expose the provider to unusual noise, odors, or
contagious diseases. Travel to community sites may be required.
