Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 16 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Oncology Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Ohio Start Date: February 9, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (day/night rotating schedule available); self-scheduling with variable weekend coverage based on unit needs Highlights: - 13-16 week assignment at a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care beds - 36-bed specialized inpatient oncology units organized by cancer diagnosis - Epic EMR system required; goal staffing ratio of 1:4, may extend to 1:5 - Float to specialized Med-Surg Oncology units including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical/Gynecological/Surgical Oncology, Urology, and Colorectal - Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries - 100 hours of orientation: first week Monday-Friday day shift, followed by five bedside shifts, then independent practice Requirements: - Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) - Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg level or higher experience required - Previous travel nursing experience required - Experience with 1:5 patient ratios - Epic charting system experience required - Oncology experience strongly preferred but not required - Current ACLS and BLS certifications required - OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred - Skills in chemotherapy administration and monitoring, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line and PICC management, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols preferred - Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program - Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership) - Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required - Urgent fingerprinting completion required immediately upon contract signing Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of oncology patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses in a specialized, comprehensive cancer center environment.
