Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 16 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Nurse – Ohio Start Date: February 9, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour Day/Night Rotating shifts; self-scheduling with requests reviewed every 4 weeks; variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; staffing ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 Highlights: - Comprehensive oncology unit caring for all solid tumor cancers across the full spectrum of the cancer journey - Patient population includes breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer diagnoses - Epic EMR system with telemetry monitoring and interpretation - 36-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams - Orientation includes 72 hours total: first week Monday-Friday dayshift, second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor - Oncology experience preferred but not required; strong med-surg background welcomed Requirements: - Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) - Minimum 2 years of nursing experience - BLS certification required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred - Epic charting system experience required - Skills in telemetry interpretation, IV management, central line blood draws, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, and port access/management - Previous travel nursing experience preferred - Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program - 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership) - Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients and families navigating cancer care, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life transitions.
