Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool RN – Ohio Start Date: February 9, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 36-hour orientation provided Highlights: - Float pool position covering step-down and PCU units across multiple campuses - Patient ratio: 1:3-4 on nights - Epic EMR system utilized throughout all units - Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more - Diverse patient population with adults and geriatric patients across all diagnoses - Weekend shifts assigned based on unit needs with flexible time-off options Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of progressive care or step-down nursing experience required - Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - NIHSS certification required - Proficiency with IV starts and cardiac telemetry monitoring - Epic charting system experience required - Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program - Strong clinical skills including arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, tracheostomy care, and wound management - Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or formal leadership role Why It's a Great Opportunity: This float pool position offers experienced PCU nurses the chance to expand their skill set across multiple step-down environments while providing critical care to a diverse patient population.
