Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit RN – Ohio Start Date: March 9, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 36-hour orientation provided; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts Highlights: - Progressive Care/Stepdown unit serving a diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics - 32-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams - EPIC charting system for streamlined documentation and patient care coordination - Advanced skill utilization including cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, ventilator management, and tracheostomy care - Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management required - Local and travel candidates accepted; former employees eligible after 6-month separation Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) - Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS - Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) - Previous ER experience, ER observation/holding, or Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required - Experience with 1:4 patient ratios preferred - EPIC charting experience preferred - Community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I or II experience preferred - Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program - 2 professional references required (at least one from formal leadership/management) - Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with urgent credentialing requirements, including Ohio fingerprinting process Why It's a Great Opportunity: This Progressive Care Unit position offers the chance to work with a highly diverse patient population while utilizing advanced critical care skills in a supportive, well-resourced environment.
