Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 16 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Surgical Oncology RN – Ohio Start Date: February 9, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts (day or night options available); self-scheduling with variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; patient ratios typically 1:4, may flex to 1:5 Highlights: - Mixed acuity unit within a brand-new hospital tower caring for both Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical patients with a focus on Surgical Oncology - Diverse case mix including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal cancers, and reconstructive plastics - Advanced procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, insulin and heparin drips, oncologic emergency management, and chest tube care - Comprehensive 72-hour orientation including on-unit precepting and Epic charting system - Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, physical therapy, and respiratory services - 36-bed unit with cardiac telemetry monitoring and modern equipment (Alaris pumps, GE telemetry, Stryker beds) Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required - Surgical experience strongly preferred - Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission) - BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required - ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred - Epic charting experience required - Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and critical drips - Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program - 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership role) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a cutting-edge facility within a newly opened tower, caring for a specialized oncology patient population with complex medical and surgical needs.
