Duration: 13 Weeks AYA Auto Offer | 1 Opening Job Details - Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Neuro - Unit: 8 BSH Neuro Surgery - Shift: Nights | 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) - Schedule: Rotating weeknights, weekends & holidays - Patient Ratios: 1:4 (may be 1:3–4) - Float: Yes – within OSU to equivalent or lower acuity units - Locals Accepted: Yes (same rate) HARD STOP REQUIREMENTS (Must Have) ? NIHSS certification AND real Neuro PCU/Stepdown experience ? EVD monitoring experience REQUIRED ? Lumbar drain experience REQUIRED ?? Candidates without hands-on Neuro PCU experience, NIHSS, or EVDs will NOT be accepted Unit Overview High-acuity Neuro Surgery PCU caring for complex neurological and neurosurgical patients. Common Diagnoses - CVA / Stroke (NIHSS hard stop) - Intracranial hemorrhage - Epilepsy - Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) - Spinal cord injury - Guillain-Barré - Multiple Sclerosis - Myasthenia Gravis Procedures & Equipment - External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) – required - Lumbar drains – required - Craniotomy care - Pre/Post neurosurgery monitoring Requirements - 2 years PCU or Neuro Stepdown experience - Strong Neuro background required - BLS, ACLS & NIHSS – REQUIRED (NIHSS = HARD STOP) - Epic charting experience required - Previous travel experience preferred - Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission Skills Required - EVD monitoring & neuro assessments - NIHSS stroke scoring - CVA & intracranial bleed management - Seizure management - Cardiac telemetry - IV insulin & heparin protocols - PCA & non-titrated cardiac drips - Tracheostomy care - HFNC & CPAP/BiPAP Patient Population - Adults & Geriatrics - 29-bed unit with strong interdisciplinary support - IV team, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Social Work, Transport, Unit Secretary Orientation - 24 hours orientation - Self-scheduling model - Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period Compliance & Important Notes ??
