Description Summary: The Radiation Oncology nurse works under the
supervision of the Manager of Radiation Oncology and Radiation
Oncologists. The Registered Nurse's primary job function is to
perform patient assessments, data collection, patient/family
education, community education, address disparities and barriers to
care for patients, coordination of resources and assist physicians
in examinations. We are a large team of 40 professionals, including
nurses, radiation therapists, medical dosimetrists, physicists and
doctors. We are one of the busiest Radiation Oncology hubs in
central Ohio with a lot of opportunities to grow your skills in the
exciting world of Oncology. Our team boasts exceptional quality of
care and patient experience to our patients. We offer comprehensive
radiation oncology services to our patients from their consultation
to scanning, planning and delivering high level personalized
treatments thanks to our cutting edge equipment. Everyday, we make

our patients. Mon - Fri 8am- 4:30pm, No weekends, No Holidays,
Riverside Methodist Hospital Responsibilities And Duties: 1. 50%
Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments for new patients,
under treatment patients, and for follow-up visits. Assessments
include biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care,
developmental, educational, and continuity of care needs. Collects,
analyzes and documents initial and ongoing subjective and objective
data from patients. Reviews data obtained by other members of
health care team and incorporates into the patient's assessment.
Identifies and communicates assessment findings, both initial and
ongoing to appropriate people. Uses assessment data to identify
pertinent nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems. 2. 15% :
Coordinates patient care assignments and patient flow, e. g.
consultations, weekly visits, follow ups visits, and specialty
procedures. Communicates and participates appropriately in QA
activities, performance improvement, staff meetings, physician case
reviews, and order management. 3. 10% Other job responsibilities as
assigned by department operations including special procedures
performed at specific locations such as conscious sedation for High
Dose Rate brachytherapy procedure s , chart preparation, and
insurance pre-authorizations as needed. 4. 10% : Carries out and
documents interventions to assist patient to achieve expected
outcomes. Uses scientific knowledge, critical thinking, technical
skills, and effective interpersonal skills to improve nursing care.
Initiates/coordinates referrals to other health care providers
and/or community resources. 5. 5% : Works in conjunction with other
staff to develop and implement patient/family education programs.
6. 5% : Manages resources including personnel, supplies, and
equipment to maintain a safe and efficient environment. 7. 5%
Maintains schedule to ensure adequate coverage for patient care
