Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with strong cardiac and telemetry skills and required BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications. Responsibilities - Work in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit with a higher-than-average cardiac patient population - Care for patients including cardiac rule-out, CHF exacerbations, pre/post cath, post-operative, and alcohol detox cases - Unit has 36 beds with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 - Duties include titrating drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin, with no use of pressors - Standard equipment includes Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, and use of ports and PICC lines - Oxygen use limited to nasal cannula; some patients may have chronic BiPAP/CPAP or tracheostomies, but no vents - Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage required - Unit has support from a unit secretary (days) and 2-4 PCTs depending on volume and staffing - Epic EMR is used; prior experience preferred - Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessments, creating and implementing care plans, and patient/family education - Night shift charge nurse will take an assignment; team includes PCTs and a variable charge nurse during the day - Navy blue scrubs are required - Study guides for Dysrhythmia exam are provided - Holiday and every other weekend shifts are expected - First-day EKG testing is required for all new nurses Requirements - Active OH or compact RN license required - Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required - At least 1 year of RN experience required - Pre/post cath and telemetry nursing experience required - Must pass a Dysrhythmia (EKG) exam upon hire with up to two attempts - Will not accept local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-666991.
