Job Description *This position is eligible for a shift

the world. Mercy Hospital’s 7M Medical Telemetry Unit cares for a
diverse population of patients ranging from ages 18 to 100 years
old. This unit cares for patients who have peg tubes, foley
catheters, central lines and tracheostomies, are post-heart
catheterization, require wound care, have drug and alcohol
addictions or have mental illnesses and are waiting for placement
at a psychiatric facility. Minimal bedside procedures are done on
this unit, but caregivers occasionally see fluid aspiration from
joints and incision/drainage of small skin abscesses. As an RN on
this team, you will assist your fellow caregivers in ensuring these
patients feel comfortable, safe and supported while receiving or
awaiting treatment. You will join a close-knit family of staff that

Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a
priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and
providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works
varying shifts from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including every weekend and
rotating holidays. A caregiver who excels in this role will: -
Provide direct nursing care. - Implement, monitor, evaluate, update
and revise patient care plans. - Monitor, record, document and
communicate patients’ conditions. - Note and carry out physician
and nursing orders. - Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge
needs. - Educate patients and their families. Minimum
qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Graduate
from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN) -
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) - Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
(AHA) or American Red Cross - External applicants: two years of
recent related nursing experience - Internal applicants: less than
two years’ experience but post orientation/90-day probationary
period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review
and approval - Will consider licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: -
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements: -
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting
patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. -
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. -
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. - Requires
working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. - Exposure
to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. - Medium Work -
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25
pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10
pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Physical Demand
requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal
Protective Equipment: - Follows standard precautions using personal
protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $41.00
Maximum hourly: $41.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting
reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful
candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking
factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history,
experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does
not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift
differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the
value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare,
dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account
contributions, etc.).
