Registered Nurse (RN) | Psych Location: Columbus, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,420 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 52 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Psych RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43223! Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Multiple shifts available Hours per Shift: 13 hours and 20 minutes per shift Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures, state and federal regulations related to nursing Description: Provides professional nursing care to hospitalized individuals or to residents of state-operated facilities. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and orders treatment plans. Monitors restrained patients on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention to emergencies. Administers first aid and arranges transportation to hospital emergency rooms when necessary. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals. May schedule, assign, and review work of lower-level staff. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains and orients new employees. Responsible for all health care of bedridden patients, makes rounds, evaluates care needed, and administers medication including narcotics. Renders direct nursing care as needed and performs specialized procedures. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams and directs health care staff assigned to an area. Acts as lead worker in charge of shifts in the absence of other supervisory staff. Assists in diagnostic health evaluations. Performs clerical tasks including documentation of medications and treatments. Completes required reports and maintains inventory of controlled substances. Arranges for outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations as needed. Performs administrative tasks and serves as a liaison with other departments. Conducts and/or attends meetings as necessary. Serves as an instructor or team leader when applicable. MAJOR WORKER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures and nursing regulations. Skill in the operation of medical equipment. Ability to gather, collate, and classify information effectively. Demonstrates physical fitness. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED: Biennial renewal of licensure as a registered nurse. UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Works shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
