JOB TITLE: Recruitment & HR Generalist

JOB SUMMARY
Community Housing Network provides permanent supportive housing,
combining safe, affordable
housing with voluntary services to support people experiencing
homelessness and who are disabled by
mental illness or substance use disorders. The services are
designed to build independent living and
tenancy skills and connect people to a full range of services,
including case management, recovery
treatment, health care, vocational and employment support, access
to benefits, money management,
daily living assistance, and social and recreational
activities.
The Recruitment & HR Generalist will provide specialized HR support
in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Benefits Management, & Employee
Relations. This position will support the talent needs of the
organization by selecting and identifying qualified individuals to
bring into the organization and provide exceptional service to
employees in their basic employment needs to ensure a remarkable
experience with CHN.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruitment
Source and recruit qualified candidates for vacant positions;
Create an active talent pipeline; Screen, interview, and select
talent; communicate with hiring managers and candidates throughout
the hiring process; coordinate hiring activities and
interviews.
Update Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with candidate notes; keep
ATS organized; utilize ATS to manage active job postings; manage
third party job postings and advertisements within budget.
Manage the pre-hire process for new hires; Perform background and
drug screenings, collect required paperwork, update ATS and HRIS
systems for seamless onboarding of new hire into the
organization.
Benefits Management
Act as first point of contact for all benefits questions and
issues, escalating as appropriate; maintain benefits enrollment
process for new hires and status changes in multiple systems.
Support the annual open enrollment process by facilitating
communication with staff, coordinating meeting and enrollment
packets, managing form collections, auditing, and follow up
communication with staff; Complete open enrollment administrative
duties in multiple systems.
Act as point of contact for 401(k) plan daily maintenance; Lead the
annual 401(k) field audit collection and work collaboratively with
payroll to complete audit within given deadlines.
Employee Relations Support
Respond to general employee questions on handbook and policy
interpretation and
Act as first point of contact to guide employees through worker's
compensation accident reporting, FMLA and other leaves of absence,
ADA accommodation requests, and medical return to work
documentation; complete all associated paperwork required by policy
and state/federal regulations with associated leave programs;
ensure employees receive timely service and response throughout
these processes.
Execute internal offboarding procedures at the direction of the HR
Director; this includes exit interviews, HRIS/Payroll/Benefit
systems termination/inactivation, and other internal notices.
Work with HR team to respond to general inquiries to the HR
department in timely manner
HRIS & Administrative Support
Assist HR Director by entering timely people data into the HRIS
system, including address changes, garnishment/child support
orders, status changes, pay changes, and auto insurance
maintenance.
Perform monthly and annual activities in HRIS system, including
audits, annual compliance reports for OSHA and EEOC, and ACA
maintenance; Utilize HRIS data to perform employment and salary
verifications as well as assist in the response to unemployment
claims.
Assist the human resources department in executing social and
team-building events that foster a harmonious and collaborative
culture.
Assist the human resources department with various administrative
and project needs as assigned by the HR Director.
Other: Provide knowledge and guidance to support organizational
initiatives related to profession; Lead, guide, and train
employees, interns, and volunteers performing related work. Carry
out other such duties as may be assigned or requested. Contribute
to CHN activities as required. Actively participate as a member of
CHN's community.
Qualifications & Job Specifications
Education/Years& Type of Experience: Bachelor's degree in human
resources, communications, business, or related fields and 3+ years
of experience in recruitment, employee benefits, & employee
relations
Or
In lieu of degree, 6+ years' experience in an HR generalist
role
Certifications, Licenses, Credentials: None
Knowledge, Skills & Other Requirements:
--- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ability to
learn and adapt to changing technology utilized in role
--- Advanced knowledge in employment laws for over 100
employees
--- Proficient knowledge in recruitment practices
--- Proficient technical capabilities learning and navigating HRIS
and ATS systems
Work Environment: This job is primarily located at the CHN office
in Grandview Heights, but expected to occasionally travel to
multiple CHN properties within the Greater Columbus area to respond
to business requests as needed. Ability to work hybrid remote
schedule within policy guidelines.
