Reports to: Director, Software Engineering

Primary Function: The primary objective of the Supervisor, Software Engineering is to manage all day to day operations of the Software Engineering Department and have the drive to manage others. They are responsible for overseeing and managing employees to ensure the highest quality of work is met and cultivates a comfortable and productive working environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Meet with employees on a regular basis to assign/review daily metrics and ensure work is being completed; make suggestions for better productivity and reorganize as needed.
  • Monitor and report monthly performance volume and metrics; meet with employees to share results and make recommendations.
  • Train and develop employees to do their job effectively, ensuring changes in process are appropriately communicated and implemented throughout the team.
  • Learn and remain up-to-date on the responsibilities and daily flow of position in order to answer questions and identify inefficiencies, streamlining opportunities, and potential improvements.
  • Perform general management responsibilities, including: responding timely to employee issues and questions, assisting in the staffing and hiring process for department positions; coaching and motivating employees to perform their best, reviewing performance both formally and informally, and maintaining confidential employee records and correspondence.
  • Promoting and fostering our company culture of trust, grit, innovation and authenticity within the department.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Time management skills, with the ability to manage, prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, G Suite, or other related software.
      Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Administration, Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
      • Minimum 5 years experience in managing, leading and/or directing teams; including coaching, development, and process improvement.
      • Previous exposure and/or understanding of Agile Methodology would be beneficial.
      • Prior experience utilizing software tools such as Jira and Confluence.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proven track record in working with all levels of staff and management.
