We, at Friendship Ridge Christian Fellowship, are searching for an energetic and dedicated individual to work with our congregation in a ministerial role. We are a multi-generational and well-established congregation (40-100 attendees) and the individuals who make up our church family are very active in the community as it regards to equal rights and serving the underprivileged. We are non-denominational, choosing love and fellowship over labels. We realize that diversity is our strength, and while we are not political, we care deeply about injustices in our community and beyond. Our Pastor of 15 years recently stepped down due to health issues, and therefore we are eager to find a new teacher for our church family. A perfect fit for our congregation would be: 2+ years experience in the ministerial/pastoral role, within the last five years. We would also prefer to see experience in areas such as prison ministry, youth ministry, or mission work. 2 to 4 year degree in related field would be appreciated, but not necessary for consideration. A belief that Biblical values have relevance in todays world, with understanding of the historical influence of the Canon Bible, and the ability to see hot button issues as an opportunity for the church to help, as opposed to the concept of taking sides. History of working with youth and young adult populations. (Much of our population is young!) Willingness to take part in activities outside of the church setting, as we take part in many fundraisers, benefits, homeless shelter events, and local events. Ability to plan events, manage time appropriately, schedule with board members, and attend meetings. An openness to discuss difficult topics with an open frame of mind. We, as a church, view our motto as You Are Welcome Here, and none are excluded from our services and friendship. A valid liscense to perform marriages, and a willingness to take leading role in funeral settings. Provide Biblically based and culturally relative sermons on a weekly basis, as well as providing Bible classes.
