Business Need/Purpose of Role: Bucyrus Blades, Inc, a Weir Group ESCO Division company, manufactures steel blades for the construction and infrastructure industries. The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) rules and regulations; executes safety, quality, and production targets using continuous improvement, pursues process management, and PDCA to uncover issues and drive improvement throughout fabrication operations. Focused on providing a safe, quality part to customers on-time. Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities: * Lead safety as a core value in the Production Environment while ensuring the prevention of injuries while maintaining business results. * Effectively manage teams and motivate others. * Develop direct reports, building technical skills appropriate to the functional responsibilities. * Clearly communicate job expectations to employees. * Establish and maintain effective communications with site management, peers, and external stakeholders. * Plan and monitor labor vs. production needs. * Perform regularly scheduled performance reviews for hourly employees. * Conduct hiring interviews. * Assure a 95% on-time credible delivery is maintained on a monthly basis. * Implement cost reduction measures, supporting department, plant, and corporate goals and commitments. * Maintain and manage department assets, equipment, and supplies. * Review profit and loss; participate in and drive savings projects to ensure year over year cost savings. * Assure individual and department performance supports quality and customer commitments. * Manage multiple projects in a timely manner while ensuring safety, cost effectiveness, and proper resource allocation. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: * Must meet one of the following criteria to be considered: * Bachelors degree with 1+ year of experience as a manufacturing supervisor or team lead * Associates degree with 2+ years of experience as a manufacturing supervisor or team lead * High School diploma with 4+ years of experience as a team lead Additional Criteria: * Experience leading and advising direct reports, or leading a significant team project with experience effectively motivating others to complete tasks and objectives * Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) desired * Must be willing to work overtime and off-shift * Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement and related activities * Positive and effective communication and collaboration skills * High energy and highly motivated with strong external and internal customer focus * Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members * Able to work both independently and as an effective team member * Knowledge of Workday and Oracle a plus. * Working Environment: Fabrication environment, 80% on Shop floor, 20% office with limited direction.
