The Application Specialist – Commercial manages the product life cycle for all assigned Commercial business systems with full accountability for supporting critical business applications. This position emphasizes independent, creative thinking and leadership through collaboration, not authority. To succeed, the Application Specialist should have a strong business background coupled with technical aptitude as they conduct research, work with primary business owners of critical business systems, and support stakeholders across business and technology departments to deliver end-to-end customer experience excellence. Apply Today!Below is a list of essential job functions, but additional items may be added to fit the candidate's skill set.COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATIONAs the Application Specialist for Commercial systems, it's key for the candidate possess strong communication and collaboration skills. It's preferred the candidate holds the below strengths while working with the Commercial business line:• The ability to communicate clearly to the Commercial business line regarding product releases, sprints, and system issues.• Maintain open communication between themselves and vendors to ensure system enhancements, new implementations and troubleshooting are completed to keep projects on track.• Collaboration with the Commercial business line, bank leadership and vendor technical support pertaining to product issues and upcoming enhancements.APPLICATION MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIC PLANNINGCandidates should display the following strengths to ensure success as the Application Specialist for the Commercial business line:• Organization for sprint and release planning, product related meetings and any requested enhancements or changes to the Commercial systems.• Ensures all applications meet the business requirements, system goals, and fulfill end user needs.• Identify and resolve all system issues while working alongside vendor technical support as needed. • Contribute to pre-testing phase of product development initiatives by evaluating proposals to identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations.• Analyze documentation and technical specifications for any new products under consideration by the Commercial line. • Review and analyze existing applications functionality and develop strategies for improving these systems.KNOWLEDGE AND CURIOSITYDisplay drive and curiosity to understand the business to its core and network with line of business subject matter experts to understand the capabilities that enterprise business systems and products solve. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies around applicable business systems and applications. Be curious, a champion for innovative methods, and seek continued professional development and growth opportunities.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job requirement satisfactorily and meet the skills inventory listed below. Successful completion of required background checks is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Advanced education in the field of computer science, systems administration, business administration, or data sciences and/or formal project management experience, with 2+ years equivalent work experience. Certifications in technology-related change management (ITILv3, PRINCE2) or Product Management (CSPO, AIPMM Certified Product Manager) helpful. Prior business-related experience in lending, banking, or loan operations highly desirable.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to write and speak effectively both one-on-one and before groups. Ability to communicate to clients and to build relationships at all levels in the organization effectively.TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Working knowledge in project management and knowledge of approaches, tools, and phases of project lifecycles required. Business Process Management (BPM), software deployment and implementation methodologies (Agile, EDM, Infrastructure, etc.) or related technical change management experience highly beneficial.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
