• Promoting safe, accident free work environment, while complying with all local, state and federal regulations
• Help with the training of drivers and other employees on safety and transportation regulations
• Monitoring the effectiveness of training programs and procedures
• Prepare reports on investigations or inspections and actions taken
• Issues notices and recommend corrective actions when infractions or problems are found
• Investigate complaints regarding safety violations
• Examine carrier operating rules, employee qualification guidelines or carrier training and testing programs for compliance with regulations or safety standards
• Review /Audit commercial vehicle logs or driver and equipment records to detect any problems or to ensure compliance with regulations
• Investigate incidents or violations such as delays, accidents and equipment failures
• Other duties as assigned Qualifications
  • Associates Degree Required
  • 2+ years in safety related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to find a solution for or to deal with proactively
  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen their safety knowledge
  • Capable of working in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Organizational skills
