be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote
work and in-office reporting), with the coordination and approval
of the appropriate supervisor. The position is located in Columbus,
OH.Position Title: Systems Engineer (SCADA)Reports To: Manager,
SCADA & Real-time Systems FLSA Status: ExemptBasic Functions: The
Systems Engineer (SCADA) is responsible for providing system
implementation, support and maintenance for the AMP SCADA
environment and technology infrastructure. This environment and
infrastructure include SCADA Front End Processing Servers, ICCP
Connectivity Servers, Data Historian Servers, Data Interface
Servers, Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Distributed Control
Input/Output (DCIO) modules, revenue metering, Real-time Automation
Controllers (RTAC) and cellular firewall devices to ensure the
security and integrity of the data transmitted into the SCADA
systems.The Systems Engineer (SCADA) ensures the secure operations
of the above listed systems and devices while providing support for
24x7 operations. Additionally, this person will analyze server and
firewall logs, scrutinize network traffic, and resolve
vulnerability issues as well as troubleshooting and conducting
user/security audits when required. This person will lead technical
staff in the design, development, and implementation of new SCADA
technologies, track progress of projects and provide feedback to
all management levels.Essential Functions:1. Design and analysis of
SCADA system. Serve as the in-house "expert" responsible for
meeting with users, identifying requirements, and designing system
functionality to meet these requirements. This includes, but is not
limited to, create custom and update SCADA Calcs, building screens,
and creating/updating systems documentation. 2. Create design
specifications and configure new systems or enhancements to comply
with these specifications. Perform system testing, complete system
drawings and system training documentation.3. Be the primary
administrator for the SCADA system.4. Write customized code within
the SCADA system.5. Troubleshoots data and controls issues.6.
Troubleshoots communications issues.7. Coordinate and facilitate
the integration of hardware, software, and services for the Energy
Control Center SCADA information systems.8. Coordinate with
IT/Network resources in order to resolve SCADA system issues and
maintain data integrity for the Energy Control Center SCADA
information system.9. Responsible for making meter and device
configuration template recommendations and upon approval creating
them for install by field SCADA Technician.10. Provides system
designs and changes to incorporate new locations for members as
well as AMP owned assets to meet or exceed established system
standards.11. Coordinates changes to the Energy Control Center
SCADA information systems while minimizing disruption to Energy
Control Center operations.12. Responsible for supporting Power
Coordinators and staff in the use of the Energy Control Center
SCADA information systems.13. Provide 3rd level support to AMP IT /
SCADA, Energy Control Center, and Power Supply Planning staff for
SCADA systems and technologies.14. Assist in providing in 1st and
2nd level SCADA and field device support to AMP staff, members, and
partners.15. Operates with independence and discretion with respect
to essential functions.16. As assigned, perform the functions
listed above for member communities.17. Performs other duties as
assigned by supervisor.Job Breakdown:* 40% - SCADA Information
Systems Administration, Monitoring and support* 30% - Provide
end-user and field support* 20% - Provide data verification from
SCADA Information Systems to ancillary systems* 10% - Configuration
and support for SCADA System and field devicesKnowledge, Skills, &
Qualifications:1. A four-year Computer Science, Information Systems
or Engineering degree is required; or equivalent experience
required. Masters or advanced degree preferred.2. A minimum of two
(2) years' experience in software development and support as well
as one (1) year experience in software support preferred.3. A
minimum of one (1) year experience in SCADA administration and
support preferred.4. Experience with systems design, specifications
building and requirements gathering is preferred.5. Additional
recommended areas of experience and exposure include, but are not
limited to:a. Working experience with SCADA systems (specifically
OSII Monarch) is a plusb. Experience with MySQL or Microsoft SQL
desirablec. Experience with C desirabled. Experience with Modbus or
DNP protocol, ICCP, PI, or SCADA is a plus6. General understanding
of an electrical utility SCADA environment preferred.7. Prior
experiences with RTO's, particularly PJM, and an understanding of
plant operations, the settlements process, and reliability in
deregulated markets considered distinctive advantages.8.
Familiarity with basic networking principals: subnets, default
gateways, and basic firewall concepts.9. Familiarity with RS232 and
RS485 serial wiring and troubleshooting.10. Familiarity with
PowerShell scripting.11. Familiarity with various field devices and
industrial networking technologies: fiber/serial media converters,
serial devices, metering devices, din rail mounting, electrical
system relays, and remote terminal units (RTU).12. Experience
working with RTUs including the configuration, implementation, and
support from both a field and system perspective.13. Experience
with industry standard software development and maintenance
methodologies required.14. Demonstrated capability for
troubleshooting and problem solving required.15. Demonstrated
capability for system development and maintenance required.16. Must
be able to work in a team environment and effectively prioritize,
execute tasks and projects in a high-pressure environment.17. Must
be willing to travel as required.18. Work requires a flexible
schedule 24x7 with duties.19. Must be able to work in a fast-paced
operations center environment.20. Strong interpersonal
