Job Description:
The Division of Anatomy at The Ohio State University College of
Medicine in Columbus, OH invites applications for a full-time,
one-year position (with the potential for additional yearly
renewal) as a Lecturer in Anatomy for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This position is well suited for a candidate who seeks a career in
teaching with emphasis on classroom and laboratory anatomical
sciences education in undergraduate baccalaureate programs.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior training or
experience in anatomy education.ResponsibilitiesThe successful
candidate will participate in the delivery of gross anatomy to
undergraduate (baccalaureate) students. Additional responsibilities
may include teaching opportunities with graduate and health
professional students, as well as contributing to embryology,
histology, and neuroanatomy courses for undergraduate students,
contingent on applicants qualifications. We seek candidates who
have experience teaching to diverse populations of undergraduate
students by creating inclusive classrooms and by utilizing
innovative pedagogy. The successful applicant will also be
encouraged to develop publishable scholarship related to anatomical
or education facilitated by collaboration with existing Division
faculty.QualificationsMasters degree in the anatomical sciences or
equivalent required. PhD degree preferred. Preference will be given
to applicants with prior training or experience in anatomy

laboratory spaces for undergraduate, graduate, medical and dental
anatomy as well as specialized laboratories for undergraduate,
outreach and medical and dental continuing education programming.
The attached Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center that was
completed in Autumn 2023 as part of an innovative model for health
sciences education, which will create an environment that fosters
the experiences and opportunities necessary for individuals to grow
and become tomorrows health care leaders.The new Interdisciplinary
Health Sciences Center includes the construction of a new 59,400
square-foot Classroom Wing and back renovation of historic Hamilton
Hall providing a 225,000 square-foot inter-professional learning
facility composed of 33 interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art
technology enhanced classrooms, 6,000 square foot student forum,
125-seat Grand Reading Room, 75-person computer center for
interdisciplinary student-faculty use and numerous private study
rooms and small collaboration spaces. This space also includes new
office space designed to house the OSU Biomedical Education and
Anatomy leadership, faculty and staff including specifically
designed office space for Anatomy Undergraduate and Graduate
Teaching Assistants. The four-story glass atrium health sciences
forum overlooks a newly designed Interdisciplinary Health Sciences
Quadrangle that provides an outdoor focal point that unites
medical, dental, nursing, optometry, and the allied health sciences
into a truly interdisciplinary health sciences campus.Ohio States
