SUMMARY

Responsible for working with a group of clinicians, children, teachers, other school staff and service providers supporting the child in a blended academic/mental health environment. Will provide individual and group interventions, conduct structured groups, classroom interventions and provide linkages to necessary community resources as needed. Position requires the documentation and maintenance of appropriate clinical documentation, maintenance of data and attendance and participation in supervision and staff meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for our clients, colleagues and community partners from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Integrates principles of Trauma Informed Care in all aspects of work.
  • Is sensitive to the children's culture and socioeconomic characteristics that delivers the best possible care to the youth and families served.
  • Provides individual and group mental health interventions with children in a school setting.
  • Coordinates, facilitates and documents group and individual experiences that foster growth in learning skills, play activities, interaction with others, interpersonal skills, self image developmental and behavior control.
  • Provides advocacy, monitoring, and linkage to services for families while the child is receiving mental health services.
  • Provide trainings as requested.
  • Collaborate with Beatty Park School staff to support student mental health needs.
  • Acts as a link to the families regarding therapeutic progress of the child.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements aspects of a variety of special projects (i.e. specific to Beatty Park, etc.).
  • Monitors and documents applicable grant requirements.
  • Gather, track and report statistical and research information to be used for outcomes purposes.
  • Participate in activities request by Beatty Park Principal and St. Vincent Family Center.
  • Attend agency, Beatty Park and Columbus City School meetings as request.
  • Other duties as assigned or requests. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • Master's Degree required.
    • Current Licensure in the State of Ohio (LSW/LISW, LPC/LPCC) is preferred but not required.
    • Previous experience working with school-age and/or pre-school children with mental health or behavioral challenges preferred.
      Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Must also have the ability to communicate sensitive information with diverse audiences, to include client families, both internal and external to the agency. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to complete, interpret and respond to clinical documentation inquiries.

      Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills required.

      Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Windows, Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

      Reasoning Ability: Ability to maintain high degree of empathy and compassion in meeting the needs of our clients and client families. Ability to build strong bonds with employees and managers to foster open, honest and candid communication. Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment. Ability to manage change in an organization reengineering its culture and approach to workload management. Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with client information, SVFC proprietary information and sensitive situations. Ability to work and contribute as member of team.
