www.express.com.ResponsibilitiesThe Sr. Operations Analyst will be
responsible for multi-platform operations, batch schedule
monitoring, data backup and storage. This includes monitoring,
analyzing, and resolving basic to moderately complex production,
application, and system problems to ensure that the data center
service commitments are met. They will also be responsible for
first level troubleshooting of network problems to over 600
stores.Note: This is a 3rd shift position.
- Monitor the batch environment to ensure timely completion of
batch processes. Escalation for abends and batch delays
(Control-M)
- First level, and some second level responsibility for
monitoring daily job processing and/or overnight batch cycles.
- Monitor companywide systems and applications for disk
utilization, network connectivity, and up/down status
(Solarwinds)
- First level response to server, database, middleware, and/or
application alerts.
- Troubleshoot and manage network connectivity issues (MPLS and
carrier circuit)
- Use documentation to triage incidents and escalation to support
teams
- Outage management (for both scheduled and unscheduled outages),
including coordinating the communication with the business, IT
management, Stores and the technical resources working on the
incident
- Monitor a queue in Remedy and email for incidents and work
orders to be completed or handled on your shift.Essential
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent
combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience: 4-7 years computer operations support. 3-5 years of
network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Extensive experience with production service level reporting
including incident, problem and change management
- Knowledge of Routers, Switches, basic knowledge of
Firewalls
- Monitor companywide systems, processes and applications in
24x7x365 environment
- First level response to server, database, middleware, and/or
application alerts.
- First and some second level responsibility for monitoring daily
job processing and/or overnight batch cycles.
- Experience with issue resolution and tracking systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
- Experience in providing technical leadership, guidance and
training.
- Outage management (for both scheduled and unscheduled outages),
including coordinating the communication with the business, IT
management, Stores and the technical resources working on the
incidentPreferred Requirements (Skills And Abilities)
- Control-M, Solarwinds, Remedy, iSeries (AS400)
- Proficiency with iSeries (AS400), data warehouse, and
backup/restores
- Ability to communicate well with user groups and technical
organizations, utilizing strong presentation skills combined with a
solid technical background.
- Experience with support of various batch processing
environments.
- Strong understanding of data networking and integration with
multiple technologies, architectures and operational
standards.
- Able to conceive and articulate vision and architecture to
technical and business audiences.
- Knowledge of Control-M production batch scheduler, server,
agents and clients in high volume environments, as well as
Control-M job creation and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of operating systems administration and network
management.
- Experience in providing technical leadership, guidance and
training.
- Able to work as a team player in a collaborative
environment.
- Able to re-prioritize tasks as circumstances change.
- Candidate will be required to hold various conference calls and
issue resolution discussions.
- The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication
skills.
- Operate in a high capacity, high stress environment
- Requires flexibility and desire to cover swing shift and
perform cross training
- Must possess the ability to work with end users and technical
support staffs
- Experience with Cypress reporting
- Resolve complex problems with minimal guidance.
- Continuously review and update existing standards and
procedures
- Provide weekly written status reports and incident reports
after hardware/software failures.
- Provide primary contact interface with vendors as needed.
- Execute tasks with little to no oversight
- Demonstrate flexibility covering night and day shift computer
operator activities
- Work rotating shifts that provide for 24x7x365 coverage based
on company needs
- Datacenter monitoring including but not limited to temperature,
humidity, equipment alarms, core device status, and UPS/Generator
health.
