Procurement leads the organization's
purchasing/procurement/sourcing function to minimize the
organization's overall purchasing costs without compromising
quality or reliability of supply. The VP, Global Procurement sets
the strategic direction of the department and provides Executive
oversight for $3.5B of spend. The VP, Global Procurement
contributes to the development of the organization's overall supply
and logistics strategy. Establishes purchasing budgets, plans,
policies, systems, and procedures that will achieve these strategic
objectives. Identifies, evaluates, and capitalizes on opportunities
to reduce purchasing costs by improving the organization's buying
patterns and supply channels. Evaluates, negotiates, and manages
the most complex or strategically important supplier and vendor
relationships to secure terms that are in the organization's best
interest.Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement strategies that leverage spending while
providing cost effective sourcing solutions. Assess the spend
categories across the Company, determining if there is value in
leveraging a decentralized structure into a centralized function

- Build credibility throughout the organization; gain the trust,
support, and confidence of the Executive Team and Key Stakeholder
Groups by standardizing and effectively administrating the
procurement process.
- Create and gain consensus on overall spending strategies. This
will include a purchasing plan supported by relevant processes and
metrics. Investigate and lead new business models and umbrella
contracts with suppliers to optimize and simplify implementation of
solutions and management of the suppliers.
- Manage direct reports through performance management processes
and maintain all hiring and firing authority within the
Department.
- Be a coach and mentor in developing commodity management
resources and be fully accountable for execution to planEducation
Bachelor's in Business Administration or Supply Chain and Logistics
Certifications and LicensesYears of Experience 10+ years of

- Ability to demonstrate experience in building large scale,
premier purchasing strategies and will have a proven track record
working successfully in the design and implementation of value
added indirect sourcing strategies.
- Experience in implementing complex projects across functions,
company boundaries and geographies will be essential.
- Strong management experiences within a multinational or global
company with responsibility for a global spend of at least $1B
involving several of the following functions: procurement,
logistics, materials management, supplier quality, operations
management, and general management. Minimum of ten years in a
senior management role involving global strategic sourcing with
emphasis on change management, continuous improvement programs,
supplier improvement programs, integrated supply chain management,
cost reduction, and organizational reengineering.
- An accomplished track-record in developing strategic sourcing
strategies and programs on a global basis, involving stakeholder
alignment, supplier partnership and alliance concepts.
- Seen as a Senior Manager amongst peers to be effective at
leading and managing complex and difficult negotiations resulting
in win/win conclusions.
- Outstanding skills in: communication, leadership, consulting,
analytical problem solving and strong business/commercial
acumen.
- Adept in establishing performance metrics and holding people
accountable for results.
- International procurement experience, including Europe and
Asia. In country experience in low-cost country sourcing strategies
and execution would be ideal.
- Long history of implementing operational best practices.
