The Opportunity
This position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the
Nutrition Division .
Primary Function:
The primary responsibility of the Inventory Deployment Planner is
to plan and execute the movement of product through a multi-tiered
distribution network to support customer demand at each shipping
site. This function includes collaborating and managing
relationships with Production Planning, Third Party Manufacturing,
Quality Systems, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Transportation,
Warehousing, among other departments to ensure product is produced,
released, and positioned as needed to support customer demand,
maintain customer fill rate goals, support budgetary goals, and
drive network efficiencies to reduce cost and increase service.
What You'll Work On
Major Responsibilities:
Analyze data inputs from multiple sources to plan and execute the
efficient movement of product through a multi-tiered distribution
network to enable customer order fulfillment and minimize the risk
of cuts at each site.
Collaborate with Production Planning, Quality Systems, Customer
Service, Demand Planning, Transportation, Warehousing, among other
departments to provide end to end process oversight and input
ensuring inventory is produced, released, and positioned to support
demand and maintain customer fill rate goals.
Compile and assess available data sources and communicate all
product availability risk and supply related issues to management
and impacted areas. Liaise with relevant departments to make
recommendations on the best solution for the business to ensure
product is available to the customers.
Micromanage product shortage situations, working with applicable
departments to reduce negative customer impacts.
Coordinate with all Logistics teams to ensure loads are meeting
expected on time performance, manage system order dates, and
communicate any customer service risks accordingly.
Responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous
improvements in the logistic processes.
Review and update SOPs to ensure accuracy.
Responsible for analyzing and taking necessary action to maintain
inventory balances of managed SKUs across all network sites ensure
effective usage of inventory supporting order fulfillment goals and
preventing E&O risk.
Maintain accuracy of Planning information in ERP system
Partners with key stakeholders to minimize and dispose of slow
moving, obsolete, and expiring inventory.
Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy
workplace culture
Collaborate with Warehouse contacts and Capacity Mangers to
evaluate space constraints and execute deployment needed to
maintain safe and efficient warehouse operations.
Coordinate with all Logistics teams to maximize carrier and
warehouse schedule capacities while supporting logistics budgetary
goals.
Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration
with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and
vendors.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as
assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Operations or an
equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred:
Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in schedule
planning
Minimum 3 years of experience with planning/work order systems
Minimum 3 years of experience working in a medical device
manufacturing environment preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or
inventory deployment planning preferred.
