AMERICAN MUNICIPAL POWER, INC. JOB DESCRIPTION This position may
be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote
work and in-office reporting), with the coordination and approval
of the appropriate supervisor. The position is located in Columbus,
OH.Position Title: Systems Analyst - Field & Hydro SupportReports
To: Director of IT FLSA Status: Non-ExemptBasic Functions: The
Systems Analyst (Field and Hydro Support) will be responsible for
providing administration, implementation and support for AMP's
generation facility systems. These systems include voice/data
networks, workstations, phones, business applications,
network-monitoring systems and other plant specific IT systems.
This person is responsible for providing 24x7x365 operations
support for the systems listed above. The role requires up to 75%
travel.Essential Functions:1. Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level
technical support, installation, and upgrades for various plant
related systems to include, but not limited to:a. Continuous
emissions monitoring systemsb. LOTO and other safety systemsc.
Windows serversd. Virtualization technologye. Physical servers,
printers, and workstation hardwaref. PBX systemsg. WAN, cellular
and vSat telecommunications equipment and circuits2. Provide 1st
level technical support, installation, and upgrades for various
plant related systems to include, but not limited to:a. Asset
management systemsb. Plant historiansc. CCTV and physical security
systemsd. Firewalls, routers, and switchese. Remote Terminal Units
(RTUs)3. Manage, monitor and incorporate plant and field devices
into AMP's network monitoring and information security systems.4.
Collaborate with the network/client/server teams and consultants as
needed to resolve problems, and take appropriate corrective
action(s) to ensure systems are operating correctly and within
established operational and functional SLA's.5. Recommends,
implements, and supports the plant servers, data storage,
backup/recovery, and archiving architecture and standards.6. Assist
with planning and upgrades related to plant applications.7.
Identifies process improvements, and develops business cases for
new investments.8. Participate in assigned projects according to
the IT project management methodology, procedures, and processes.9.
Weekend and off peak hours' implementations are part of the work
duties, as well as being part of a rotating 24x7 on-call support
team.10. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.Job
Breakdown:* 60% - plant systems and field site administration,
implementation, and monitoring * 15% - project management,
inventory management, evaluation and procurement, systems training
and documentation* 25% - end-user support for laptops, phones, and
mobile devices* Up to 75% travel to plant sites and field sites
requiredKnowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:1. A minimum of a
two-year degree in computer science, information systems, or
related discipline, or four (4) years of directly related
experience, is preferred.2. Experience in windows server and
network troubleshooting a plus.3. Experience in a role that
requires field support activities, such as a broadband or ISP
installer or technician role a plus.4. Recommended areas of
expertise include, but are not limited to:a. Knowledge of basic
disaster recovery best practices, documentation management, and
periodic testingb. 24x7x365 operations supportc. Remote office data
protectiond. Client/server processese. Virtualization
technologiesf. Microsoft Windows workstation and serverg. TCP/IP
networks and LAN/WAN physical and logical supporth. Industrial
operations applications such as Historians, Asset Management
Systemsi. Fiber Optic, RJ-45 ethernet and serial cabling
technologies and convertersj. Telecom and data transmission
technologiesk. Industrial communications protocols (OPC,
FactoryTalk, Modbus)l. Wireshark, putty, telnet, ping and other IT
troubleshooting toolsm. Network monitoring systems and dashboards5.
Excellent demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.6.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both at a technical
level and at a plant operations level.7. Ability to effectively
manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and meet
deadlines.8. Must be a detail and process oriented, innovative,
self-starting, hands-on technology professional that is able to
work with minimal supervision. 9. Must be able to work in a team
environment and periodically work under high stress conditions.10.
Use various network/client/server monitoring tools for systems
control and problem resolution.11. Must be able to work in a
fast-paced environment.
